★ About Fortnite Season 7 Skins:
Fortnite Battle Royale is a free-to-play battle royale online game developed and published by Epic Games. It is a companion game to Fortnite: Save the World, a cooperative survival game with construction elements. It was initially released in early access on September 26, 2017, for Microsoft Windows, macOS, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, followed by ports for iOS, Android, and the Nintendo Switch in 2018.
The concept of the game is similar to previous games of the genre: 100 players skydive onto an island and scavenge for gear to defend themselves from other players. Players can fight alone (Solo), with one additional player (Duos), or with a group of up to three others (Squads). As the match progresses, the playable area within the island gradually constricts, giving the players less and less room to work with. The last player or team alive wins the match. The main distinction from others in the genre is the game’s construction elements, which can give advantages based on skill level and utilization. Battle Royale uses a seasonal approach with battle passes to introduce new character customization content in the game, as well as limited time events, some of which correspond with changes to the game map. Since its initial release, several other game modes have been introduced, including “Playground”, which somewhat serves as a training mode.
The idea for Battle Royale arose following the release of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, a similar battle royale game that was highly successful, but was noted for its technical flaws. Originally released as part of the early access version of Save the World, Epic later transitioned the game to a free-to-play model funded by microtransactions. Following its rise in popularity, Epic split the development team, with one focusing on Battle Royale and the other on Save the World.
Battle Royale received positive reviews from critics, who praised its learning curve, gameplay, art style, and progression system, but noted its similarity to previous games in the genre. The game quickly rose in popularity following its release, eventually surpassing Battlegrounds in overall player count and revenue. By March 2019, the game had been played by over 250 million people and had generated over 2 billion dollars worldwide. The game has gone on to become a cultural phenomenon, with promotion through social media and several celebrities, including Ninja, Marshmello, and Drake, contributing to the game’s popularity, achieving record high viewerships on streaming websites in the process.
Battle Pass Season 7 is an update for Battle Royale in Fortnite that was released on December 6, 2018 and, due to Epic Games’s own holiday break, will be extended by two weeks and ended on February 28, 2019. The theme revolves around Iceberg Collision. The battlepass cost is 950 V-Bucks. New features include Wraps, allowing players to customize weapons and vehicles with new looks to match and complement their favorite outfits.
Buying the Battle Pass allowed players to have a weeks early access to the Creative mode, which was released for free on December 13, 2018.
Season 7 continues the storyline that had been growing since Season 3. The Iceberg spotted in late Season 6 collides with the island bringing a brand new area to the map. A few Hoilday skins are watching TV in a cabin when they witness this happen. Though, at first excited, a battle-hardened Santa Claus and several Slushy Soilders appear on top of the iceberg and declare war. However, this war isn’t due to the people of the island. It’s due to a evil skin named The Ice King who lives on his castle on-top of the Iceberg.
Shortly after, A.I.M. finds a girl named Lynx and invites her to live with it at Frosty Flights, a new base that A.I.M. has setup. Meanwhile, TomatoHead and Durr Burger continue their food war with Durr and Tomato setting up a shop at Retail Row, the latter being due to Greasy Grove (where the original Durr Burger was located) being flooded by Viking Village and then frozen by the Ice King. The Iceberg starts to melt, revealing a sword named the Infinity Blade, owned by The Ice King. Players could use this sword as a melee weapon. However, the weapon was vaulted due to it trashing a million dollar touranment. It can be assumed that Ice King lost the sword. Some time after that, a weather warning and a coutdown appeared on all of the TVs in the Island, around that time an Ice Sphere appeared over where the sword used to be, on Polar Peak, and after a while, it was possible to see that the Ice King was inside the Sphere. On January 19th the Ice King broke out of the sphere and covered the entire Island in snow and Ice Monsters appeared on the island. Later, the evil Prisoner (unoffically named The Fire King) breaks out and begins melting all of the snow off the map. After doing so, he starts summoning earthquakes which eventually cause huge cracks to form on the island. The Fire King takes refuge in Wailing Woods where it slowly begins to decay and burn due to his powers. A final cracks destroys an Tilted Towers building (again) and causes a huge heat wave.
